R2D2. He’s our hero, and what a guy! Not only has he defined the robotic wingman, and the droid on a mission, he has escaped the world of Star Wars completely. As a creation of George Lucas, and a close associate with ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) and Skywalker Studios, you better believe that oppportunities about to see our friend in action. For Instance: Did you see him in the recent Star Trek release:

If you direct your eyes to the image above (click image for hi-res), you can see that the huge white arrow clearly points out the iconic Star Wars character in the middle of a Star Trek battle — someone, somewhere, is screaming bloody murder. But I believe the rest of us are smiling.
Not only is here in the new Star Trek movie, but our Star Wars navigator also appeared briefly in the Transformers movie as well.
