Presentations: 2 Minute Training #1: Present First
As a business decisionmaker, you are probably considering multiple offers, and presenting multiple strategies all the time. And if you are anything like most researcher or decisionmakers, you are always comparing every offer you find against the first offer you received. Don’t feel bad, or singled out, its just a good business practice.
Believe it or not, the same holds true for pitch meetings, presentations, and Displays.

Present first, and take the pole position. If you cannot present first, try to make sure you can present in the first timeslot of the day.
Presenting first sets the pace, and will set the client or company in a mood to compare every presentation to yours. Whether you mean to or not, your presentation will remain firmly in their minds. Any other presenter’s visuals will be compared to your visuals. Their personality or professionality will be compared to yours. Set the pace, be lively but professional, and be prepared to really show your stuff.
If you cannot be first, get a spot first thing in the morning on a given day. This will bring you into contact with professionals who are fairly energized and ready to make decisions. Everyone other presentation during that day will be compared to your presentation.
Getting a presentation as the first of a group of presenters, will set you in front of a group of professionals who are eager to see what you can do. They will be excited about the prospect of your presentation, and are ready to take notes. Giving a great presentation will set them in a good mood, and they will associate that mood with you and your presentation.
Get out in front, and reap the benefits of being the first in full site. Take them by storm!

I’ve been looking for this, tahnks for the info!
I’ve been searching for this exact information for a while now. Thank you for taking the time to post this. There isn’t enough good information of presentations out there….
Hey, I like your site. I was wondering if you would do a review post of my product at [removed address]?
As I have stated earlier about this particular product, send me the product. I will use it. If its good, I’ll blog about it. Otherwise, I won’t.
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
