Ever meet a new business person, and have them hand you a card backwards or upside down? You get embarrassed, have to rotate your card around, and try to put them at ease. All this fumbling actually only makes them feel more embarrassed.
Before a networking meeting, or entering into a business situation, or attending an event you feel might have a potential lead or client, take a minute and Stack Your Business Cards For Success. Pull out your business cards. Do you have at least five? If not, go back to your car, and get some more. You Should always keep business cards in your car, but we can talk about that later.
Take your business cards, and turn them all the same direction, and then put them in one of the left front pocket of your pants. This should be so that you can shake hands with your dominant hand, and can still reach into your pocket while you are talking. When you pull out a card, it should have your information facing your business lead, and be right side up.
This way, in one smooth motion, you can reach into your pocket, and pull out a business card ready to read by your new business lead. They never have to fuss with the card, or worry if they can read it right away. To avoid confusion, take their business card, and place it in your breast pocket. This will make their card seem important, and subconciously close to your heart.
