Networking: 2 Minute Training #15: Send A Personal Thank You

You just got off the phone with a referral you received this week. They love your work, and they’re willing to put $1200 down for a brand new widget. How can you thank the person who passed you their information? You’d love to do it in a way that is memorable, unique, and shows that you care and are really thankful, but how to do it?

While you have been networking for a while now, you have probably become aware of the extended network that has discovered your business and your mailing address. You may get newsletters and form letters, but you probably will still look at handwritten envelopes, and you will probably rush to open them.

Handwritten notes are definitely the way to go. Write a card, thanking the individual in question, and letting them know how much you appreciate their help and their confidence. You can always go with something quirky like letterpressed cards from Blue Barnhouse.

No need to be overly fancy here. Just a quick note, handwritten by you, will show that extra little bit of care and that little extra touch. Did a hand written note ever get you noticed? Tell us about it!
